First of all, Apache Allura is an open source forge application, it was developed by SourceForge, and provides a lot of really great functionality, to find out more about what it offers, check out the link.
It has provided a private way to manage source, and share it, along with a ticketing and documentation area, so I’m not complaining!
But, the documentation is a little lacking, while it will help to get you up and running quite quickly, there are a few things that aren’t so obvious, for example:
- Configuration to send email is not obvious, or documented
- A user management interface doesn’t seem to exist, you can modify their permissions on an existing project, but managing the actual user doesn’t seem possible.
